Summary: Nice looking and functional, but has minor usability issues.
Comment: This scale is very nice looking, and seems sturdy. When you step on, it starts counting. If you continue to stand on it, it will count to ten twice, then turn off... leaving you wondering. Why not just give a weight at that point?
Maybe I'm out of touch with scale technology, but I expect to step on a scale and have it tell me how much I weigh. More advanced features are fine (and I expect to read the manual before being able to take advantage of them), but stepping on the scale and getting a weight is a pretty nice out-of-the-box feature. I docked it half a star for failing to deliver that basic functionality.
I found the documentation easy to understand. Once you take the time to read the manual (or happen to notice that you can step off any time before the count completes, then step back on for a weight), the scale seems to measure weight accurately. I can't vouch for the accuracy of body fat and water measures--I haven't compared it with other sources.
It also has buttons on the front, which seems less convenient than having buttons on the back or top where they'd be toe-accessible. This seems noteworthy for a high capacity scale likely to be used by people who might have trouble reaching the buttons with their fingers. Fortunately those buttons are only important for initial setup, so I only docked it another half star.
I like it overall, but it made a poor first impression. Fortunately first impressions become less important over time, and this scale seems like it will last. I do not recommend it for an environment where there will be frequent new users, though.

Comment: Very pleased with is scale. No problems with setup, easy to understand directions. Good quality, sturdy and display is easy to read. My husband is 6 feet 7 inches and it definitely lives up to it's accuracy for weighing large capacity. To measures percentage of body fat it is very sensitive. To use you must press your foot on the left side of the scale until you see your user number, but you can not touch for very long or it will pass your number and stay on the next users number. You will then have to wait for the scale to reset to try again. So, take care in pressing directly in the middle if you only want to use the weight mode. All in all, great value and would recommend.

Comment: I purchased this product after a great deal of research. Like a lot of folks out there, I wanted something that would be "consistent" every time I step on, back-to-back. And it is. Right out of the box it worked with no difficultly or lenghtly setup. I've gotten on and off a few times in the space of a minute and the readings were always the same.
The Escali is a high capacity scale, when others top out at 330lbs or 350lbs - a plus in my case. But better than that, this product was relatively cheap compared to other scales from Weight Watchers/Conair, Tanita, Health O Meter, and LifeSource. Many of those brands with high capacity were up in the $100+ range.
If anyone wants an economically priced, high capacity scale that does exactly what it advertises, then this is the scale for you.
It is highly recommended.
